Embodied Wisdom: An Evening of Yoga Nidra and Journaling

Join Meghan as she leads you through the powerful practices of Yoga Nidra, movement and journaling. Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative and healing meditative practice that allows us to access our feelings, thoughts and emotions while in a state of open receptivity. Studies have shown that Yoga Nidra reduces the negative effects of stress: anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, and low mood.
Journaling will be included as a means to explore our inner landscapes, giving us clarity about what we hope to achieve during our journey of Yoga Nidra.
Often, the best way of accessing our feelings, thoughts and emotions is through our bodies. We will begin the evening with gentle movement, before moving onto journaling. We will complete our time together with a 45-minute Yoga Nidra practice.
Bring your own journal and pen. Please feel free to bring comforting items such as pillows, blankets and eye pillows. All levels welcome, no experience necessary.

Sleep - An Ayurvedic Perspective

7:00 PM19:00

Sleep - An Ayurvedic Perspective

Sleeping consists of about one third of our life. This third of our life is an essential time for our body to heal and regenerate so we can show up more fully to all of our life's work. An average person loses 11.3 days of work time per year due to sleep disorder and in the US, $63.2 billion are lost in work productivity. Sleep loss causes suppression of our immune system, it adversely affects our cognition, decision making, as well as creativity and imagination, making us less efficient and more stressed. Sleep disorders also have negative effects on all of our relationships.
In this conversation about sleep, we will talk about individualized approaches to treating sleep disorders. We will discuss various causes, effects and ways to counteract these issues using home remedies, herbs, and Ayurvedic medicine.

After our discussion, we will make our way out of the classroom and into the lobby to enjoy homemade Ayurvedic snacks and answer any questions.

Talk will be lead by: Dr Anup Mulakaluri, ND and AWC, and Afrin Sopariwala, AWP

Hear Trish Alkaitis speak about the philosophy behind the Dr Alkaitis line and his motto "if you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin." She'll discuss their holistic approach to using only raw, living, edible ingredients, the meticulous process that goes into the formulation of each product, the importance of organic/biodynamic farming and their use of several Ayurvedic herbs.

Holly Cline Skincare has been the exclusive Dr Alkaitis provider in Seattle for the past 5 years and is delighted to have Trish join us all the way from New York! So come celebrate and talk skincare while sipping bubbly/wine, snack on hors d'oeuvres and enjoy a gift with a Dr Alkaitis product purchase that evening!

And as a bonus, we're again teaming up with the lovely Holly to offer a special facial/yoga package that night only!

The Divine Feminine Yoga Series

Designed to help individuals identify and embrace the archetypes of the divine feminine, this 3-week series guides you through your emotional mind and body, specifically the feminine centers - the heart (4th) and sacral (2nd) chakras. The series includes 3 touch-infused yoga sequences embodying the divine feminine archetypes to awaken our awareness to its presence.

Part asana, part discussion we'll briefly explore the history of the divine feminine and how it's currently represented in modern day society as well as our personal relationship to it or lack thereof. Journaling and group discussion encourage community exploration of the 6 divine feminine archetypes while lending space for interpersonal healing. Bring your yoga mats, a pen and journal to take notes.

This workshop is for those who have, knowingly or unknowingly, fought against the patriarchal system to the point where they’ve come to resist themselves and their flow. This workshop is for the individual who’s divine feminine has been calloused by trauma and victimization. This workshop is for the community member who’s divine feminine has been socially suppressed because it doesn’t match the image of the female gender.

This workshop is for you if you’re ready to embrace your divine feminine energy in alignment with the divine creator and source within you. Expect to learn the nature of your feminine energetic body and mind in order to embrace your own unique divine feminine and confidently embody it!
